Mu Cang Chai Named Among World’s Most Beautiful Peaks

Whether you’re an advid lover of skiing, hiking or just sightseeing, mountains are natural wonders that are worth traveling for.
Mu Cang Chai, a rural town in the North of Vietnam, famous for its mesmerizing rice terraces, has been listed as one of the 19 most picturesque peaks on earth.

U.S. popular travel site Insider picked out what they think are the most beautiful mountains on earth. The list includes world-known destinations like Mount Fuji in Japan to Peru’s colorful Rainbow Mountain with fascinating facts and descriptions of each peak. Standing proud among the 19 spots picked out, Vietnam’s Mu Cang Chai is described as “a hidden gem” where “terraced rice fields are a shade of green so deep you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a painting.”
Depending on the time of year, the color can vary from emerald green to golden yellow and light brown.

Mu Cang Chai in Yen Bai Province is around seven hours drive to the northwest of Hanoi. It sits at 1,000 meters (3,300 feet) above sea level at the foot of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range.
People from the H’Mong ethnic group started carving rice terraces into the mountain range hundreds of years ago and are still harvesting them today.
