Note: The large height difference between the starting and ending stations can cause pressure changes in the cable car cabin, which may lead to ear popping. To deal with this, visitors are advised to use cotton earplugs or keep their teeth clenched.

The Ba Na Hills cable car is equipped with 94 cabins, capable of serving up to 6,500 guests per hour.

Each cabin can hold 30 to 35 people. The speed of each cable line is 6 meters per second, and the travel time between two neighboring stations is 5 to 25 minutes. The cabins are designed with six sides of tempered glass windows, providing a clear and open view for visitors as they travel up to the top of Bà Nà.

Additionally, the entire Ba Na Hills cable car system can serve up to 6,500 guests per hour. This helps Sun World Ba Na Hills manage visitor transportation and minimize congestion during peak tourist seasons.

  • September 3, 2007: Mr. Vũ Huy Thắng, the former Director of Bà Nà Cable Car Joint Stock Company, was hesitant and did not plan to build the cable car as originally intended due to concerns about the Bà Nà terrain after surveying it.
  • October 2007: The leaders of Sun Group decided to proceed with the project because of their “Bà Nà promise” to the city of Đà Nẵng. The challenge was immense, with only a one-year construction deadline and a requirement that no trees in the forest be cut down. Despite these challenges, Mr. Vũ Huy Thắng decided to undertake the project within just one hour.
  • October 2007 – End of 2007: A group of Vietnamese and Austrian engineers began exploring deep into the forest, heading toward the top of Chúa Mountain for further surveys. They faced many difficulties due to the terrain, nature, and weather conditions.
  • Early 2008: After more than three months of continuous surveying, measuring, and traveling, the survey team and Sun World leadership completed the main route for the first cable line (now the line from Suối Mơ Station to Bà Nà Station & Debay Station to Morin Station).
  • Early 2008 – June 2008: The project started construction but encountered many difficulties due to harsh weather and challenging terrain, requiring all machinery and materials to be transported entirely by human effort. The team decided to find a more feasible transportation method by building a service cable line.
  • June 2008: The service cable line, built by human effort, was completed, allowing the smooth transportation of thousands of tons of heavy machinery and materials. This significantly sped up and improved the construction progress.
  • March 25, 2009: The Bà Nà – Suối Mơ cable car system was officially put into operation. This cable car is not only a means of transporting visitors to Ba Na Hills but also a great source of pride for the people of Đà Nẵng.

The World Records

On February 6, 2013, the Ba Na cable car was recognized by Guinness World Records for achieving four world records, including:
